Good Neighbor Breakfast – Rockwell Automation

As Vice President of State & Community Relations and Secretary of the Rockwell Charitable Corporation, my goal was to serve as a responsible fiduciary agent of the company’s “charitable investments” in the community. I developed a program whereby Rockwell executives and volunteers hosted a quarterly breakfast for grantees. The nonprofit agencies were paired up with their Rockwell volunteers, who would present the contribution. A representative of the nonprofit would briefly (1-2 minutes) describe their organization and the programs for which the donated funds would be used. Goals were to: (1) position Rockwell as a “good neighbor;” (2) encourage collaborations and strategic alliances among the community-based organizations; and (3) leverage Rockwell’s contributions, since our contributions budget was getting smaller.
